"I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat."
-Rebecca West

Quoted last century by a remarkable woman, women in the 21st century who have opinions are still being labeled feminist. Perhaps it’s not a “dirty” word anymore, but ‘feminist’ still carries connotations of a wrong type of attitude. How can that be changed? More specifically, how can we change that?

  1. I think it is interesting that young women that I talk to also seem to want to distance themselves from being called a feminist. Why is it that we look at this negatively? I wonder too how we can change this perception. Education, honoring the changes the past feminists brought forward for us? Nice quote today!
